Can anyone recommend any please? We're seeing the GP due to concerns re our DD7's behaviour, but as I know any support may take a long time does anyone know of any parenting/behaviour management resources that may help? We're at a complete loss and all the usual techniques don't work, and often make things worse e.g. rewards make her incredibly anxious and fixated on the reward itself. TIA x

There is a supplement called Cognitively that gets good recommendations. (I'm not affiliated at all with the product). Melatonin for sleep also helps a bit.

We look at the symptoms with our dd and find a resource/ response for those eg provide trampoline, sensory sock, chew toy for sensory seeking and tolerate handstands on the sofa without comment. Have chats in advance and plan playground and exercise places on day trip to help with running off behaviour. We don't make her sit down for meal times at home and she can get up and wander off if she needs to. We stop the car and have a break as soon as we can if she says she can't sit strapped in any longer. As long as she apologises we don't make too big a deal out of impulsively said insults to us etc. It's not easy but they are symptoms and it's not worth turning your home into a battleground over. If you follow some adhd accounts on Instagram it will keep suggesting more as well which helped me with finding how I wanted to approach it at home. The biggest shift for us was treating dd with understanding and support and always taking the view that despite how it may appear she's not trying to be naughty and doesn't want to fall out. Dd is definitely the most hilarious person I know as well and a very fast runner.

IME rewards and deals are a disaster

look at 123 magic

basically do everything you can to really really strengthen your bond w your child, that’s what matters.
