How is yours spending the school holidays and what do you do with them day to day (trips, outings, activities etc)?

We've been to a maize maze, day trip on the train, he's had his friends over a couple of times and been to his friends. We've had a couple of chill days with movies, we went out for lunch and a mooch about in a market town. We've been to a farm place with sunflower fields, an aquarium.

He'd be quite happy left to his own devices (literally!)

We still have a few plans, but we are going away and I do have work for the next couple of weeks, so it'll all calm down.

On the list still to do is...
Uniform shopping (sweetened with a new pair of fun trainers for the hols)
Swimming
Baking a big cake
Laser tag.

Normally we'd build in a couple of bigger trips, but that's because we don't usually go away in the summer hols, so here are some of the things that we've done previously, to see if it inspires you!

Trip to London (tourist stuff, or Camden, or a museum)
Trip to the coast
Stonehenge/a castle/something along those lines
Somewhere beautiful, with a picnic and hopefully a river to paddle in/build a dam/catch sticklebacks and a long chilled English country side summer day vibe.
Into the local city

We're also a fan of finding the unusual stuff, like a pinball cafe, or curling, or something else a bit unusual.

Hope this helps!

We’ve been on day trips like the beach and local sites of interest.

Done a couple of holiday clubs.

Somequiet days at home with a mix of TV and playing.

Has a friend due for a sleep over next week.

Basically we try to do a mix of active and chill out activities around work.

Mine is almost 9.

We had two weeks away, and over BH weekend we will go camping by the coast.

He's doing about 2 days of holiday club (football) per week. One or two days with grandparents looking after them each week - they usually go out to a local attraction like zoo, NT etc.

The other odd days/weekends is a mix of time at home, library, park to play football, hopefully will go swimming. There are a couple of parks with adventure playgrounds that I would like to visit too that are a bit further away so that is maybe a couple of days trips. Beyond that we don't have any big days out planned.
