So tired of it all

I stayed at home for years to take care of the kids.

I regret it as now I have returned to work unappreciated, burnt out, and on the bottom rung.

I am so burnt out by work that I don't want to be around my kids and husband on the weekend. I feel like a horrible mum and bad employee.

Please help.

I'm sorry you're feeling like this. Do you have the option to reduce your hours? Or do your current hours in less days so maybe you can have a day off midweek?

I'm trying to climb the ladder so feel like this would jeopardise things.

You'll need to change something because it doesn't sound like you can go on as things are.

How long have you been at your current job?

Was it a particularly rough week?

Change jobs/careers. The right job wouldn't feel like this.

@CheerfulYank 1 year. It's not a permanent post. More of a dogsbody job. They are keeping us on short term contracts, senior staff are burnt out as we are untrained in the field (lack of willing participants).
