Paranoid about DD sleeping on front

DD is six months old in two weeks, and has started rolling onto her tummy in the night when she’s sleeping. Her head is always turned to the side and sometimes she’ll cry and wake us if she’s uncomfortable/dummy has fallen out etc, but she can’t roll onto her back yet. She is really good at rolling back to front, and has had great head and neck control since about 3 months.

I panic every time I go to check on her and find her lying on her tummy. But if I roll her onto her back, she’ll wake up crying and takes a long time or a feed to settle back to sleep. She seems comfortable and I make sure her cot is clear, trying to make it a safe as I can, but I’m just so worried. I don’t want to be waking her by constantly rolling her over if that’s what she finds comfortable, but also I’m paranoid about leaving her to sleep on her front when she can’t roll back yet.

Does anyone have any advice? Did your DC do the same?

It's really fine. 6m is robust.

As long as it is a firm mattress with fitted bedsheet and no loose pillows, then you're making triple sure

as soon as my son learned to roll at 4 months he was a tummy sleeper, as soon as he was on his back he rolled, so we went with it. he did start sleeping better at that point too, I guess more comfy for him! At this age they have the head control to keep their head to the side, I've never seen him sleeping face down!
