Teething baby

11 month old DD has (at least) 3 teeth coming through, and she's struggling bless her. She tries her hardest to keep upbeat, but we can see how much it's hurting her.
She definitely has one at the bottom and two at the top coming through, but after a quick feel yesterday (quick because she chomps like a baby crocodile!) I think there may be another at the top about to come through. I can only imagine how painful this must be for her.
Our usual bonjela and teething granules don't seem to be offering much relief at the moment. We've been giving calpol when it's particularly bad, which is normally in the evening, but is there anything else people recommend? A friend suggested anbesol (I think that's how it's spelt?) but I haven't heard of it, and after a quick Google I've seen it comes in liquid or gel. Does anyone have any experience of using this? Thanks for any help 🙂

Hi OP, I really feel for you, my 9 month old DD is teething at the moment it's horrid isn't it.

Anbesol liquid is much better than the gel I find. Also nurofen seems to work better for teething than calpol.

Other than that lots of cuddles and teething rings.

Hope they're all through soon and she's feeling better xx

Ps. The anbesol you can get at a decent pharmacy and I find she instantly seems happier when I put it on x

Nurofen. It lasts for 8 hours so twice the length of calpol and is also an anti inflammatory so can help with gums. I always gave it to mine before bed when teething.

Teething granules are a load of old hooha, or at least that’s what the pharmacist told me- apparently they still manage to trade of the reputation they had back in Victorian times back when they still contained cocaine 😬

Thank you both so much! I'll get the anbesol tomorrow and try nurofen tonight!
