I've been wanting to try her in washables for a while and never gotten around to it, until now.

I was given a kushies ultra in a large size and numerous terry squares before she was born and they've just been kicking around the house since.

I found the Kushie at the weekend and decided that it's time to go for it, so I'm in need of advice and supplies.

The all in ones would be easier for my OH to cope with, but I'm open to all ideas. I've also trawled through the for sale thread, leaving messages where I think that they might be suitable but are there any other people looking to sell larger size reusables.

Thanks

Kushies as a general rule are pure hell

If you want something that goes on AIO then you can either go for actual all in ones, but they tend to take a long time to dry (apart from the new bambinex ones) or aren't absorbent enough because you can't add enough layers... OR you can go for pockets. 2 pieces, put one inside the other once they are dry, then just put it on all in one when you want to use it.

Oodles of pocket nappies out there I have a classifieds section on bumfluff here

I'm happy to talk through various nappies with you - bumfluffnappies at gmail dot com

I tried a kushie and it was leaky.

I found the two part ones best with a separate wrap. I have some size 2 Bimbles, Little Lambs, Diddy Diapers, Nappy Nation no folds for sale. All in excellent condition, no marks nor stains. Bimbles are popper fastening, others fasten with velcro. I am asking £4 a nappy but would do a bulk deal if you were interested.

Thank you, I've emailed you Slugs

oh i miss you not being flame.

I've been adding things to my basket as I've discovered that if I spend £50 or more on washables and have a detailed receipt then I can claim £30 back from my county council.

So far I've added a berry plush poppered all in one and three swaddlebees all in ones with swaddlebees hemp inserts but I'm now a mass of indecision as to whether that's the right thing to buy.

I was also thinking of getting some nappy nippers and wraps and using some of the terry squares that I already own for around the house - but I'd have to learn how to fold them.

Gah - it's all so difficult. Please help.

I'm sorry, I've been out, and now need to head out again. I have a box of berry plush in my boot too, so may have different designs

i will email you this evening - I'm soooooooo sorry for making you wait

Nappyzone · 27/02/2008 17:54

On a 19month old you should be able to get on quite well with pockets - they are nice and easy. Good luck in finding some used ones - I have nothing of use to sell on privately only new on my webby but never mind. I might have to come have a look at flameys classifieds for a neb about...

mrspnut · 27/02/2008 17:58

I'm also looking for new now, after discovering my £30 cash back.

I just want to say a huge thanks to Flame and Nappyzone for advice and beautiful nappies.

I can see this will become my new obsession and will be looking out for new colours and makes as soon as I manage to hide the bank statements.

I think I've now got enough to get started - I have (or will have when everything is delivered) 4 fuzzi bunz, 2 wonderoo, 1 berry plush, 5 motherease, a mommys touch, a couple of wraps, some xl stuffables that are a bit big at the moment and about 15 terry squares. I also have some hemp boosters being posted so I think I might have to curb my spending for a week or two.

I still need to buy a bucket with a lid and some white vinegar but is there anything glaringly obvious that I've missed.

oh, I didn't buy any inserts as i have oodles of fuzzis inserts

Nappyzone · 06/03/2008 21:58

Sorry didnt mean to tempt you - the bamboo greenkids inserts are really thirsty and dense but still super slim - but on the downside they take a donkeys age to dry....

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 22:06

sorry for hijacking your thread mrspnut

I like the sound of slim.....DD has some trousers that struggle over cloth so it would be nice to have the option to slim them down a bit.......I'll be right over

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 22:16

hee hee

mrspnut · 07/03/2008 10:38

I did order 2 more FB's and I look forward to getting them.

I shall wait until next month before looking to buy more.
