Please talk me down - 9 week old head flopping forwards

We've had some scary moments with DD already which has caused me to be really anxious about her health. She started spasming in her sleep at a few weeks old, twitching movements in all limbs for about a minute. Was told as long as she's asleep and it stops if we hold her down then it's likely not seizures.

Now I've noticed her head drops forwards at times I'm holding her under her armpits facing me. I'm worried this is another symptoms of seizures (infantile spasms). She's generally got good head control already, but she's still very young of course. So is dropping her head forward a normal thing? I thought newborn heads only dropped backwards because of weak muscles. This makes me sound so stupid I know, I just really need some perspective and reassurance.

She would be very young for infantile spasms - but if it is that it's very important to get diagnosed promptly. The best thing you can do is film any movements you're worried about and then seek medical advice. Hope it all turns out to be nothing.

I'd say it was normal OP, but ask to put your mind at rest.

Hi OP

My DD is 10 weeks tomorrow and her head drops forward sometimes, I haven't been worried because she has pretty good control of her head 99% of the time. Sometimes drops back a little, I notice it more if she's tired.

I can't give any advice on the spasms you're mentioning and if you're worried, talk to GP/HV xx
