My baby is 8mo
he is EFB - won’t take bottle / formula
doing great on solids BLW.

I’m the day feeds are usually no longer than 12mins but more often short feeds of a few minutes.
at night they can be around 20 mins and longer if teething or unwell. I know occasionally he needs a comfort feed ~6mins at night.

anyways my question is, is that normal??
I can’t remember the last time he did a long 45 min feed like when he was tiny

weight gain is great so not a concern.

Babies get more efficient at feeding as they get older. This sounds very normal to me.

And I fed my babies till they were 2/nearly 2. I eventually decided that if they were gaining weight fine and doing ok with solids and I was also doing ok then it was a waste of my time worrying about whether their breathing habits fitted in with what other people thought they should be doing. I reckon all the data on feeding behavior is wrong because it’s either based on formula fed babies or mum’s lie about their breastfed babies feeding habits because they get sick of drs, health visitors, family or friends telling them they are doing it wrong/baby is doing it wrong.

Yes, he’s more efficient. If you continue, he will get even more efficient.

Agree with this. Stop timing feeds - there's no need!
