Hi
wondering if anyone has any ideas or even who I’m meant to contact to ask (school don’t know). Currently have 50/50 court order in place with ex, daughter is going to a new school where I am eligible for free school meals but her dad isn’t. Will they just give her free meals for the year regardless or will they realise the order and only grant it for half?

Hi - there’s no partial FSM award. If your child is awarded FSM then they’ll get it for the full week.

I’m pretty sure if you apply she will get FSM all the time.
How old is she?

Also due to getting these I currently get the meal vouchers for the school holidays. If she chooses to have packed lunches instead will I still get these vouchers in the holidays?

I dont think so, I think the vouchers only go along side the eligible FSM. I'm in Wales and our council have rolled out a free school lunch for all kids from September in primary. In our school newsletter it looks like the pupils who have been receiving fsm due to low income will still be receiving the vouchers during the holidays.

Headteacher here.
Yes she’ll get FSM all week and you’ll also get the vouchers (although the Gov are likely to stop them soon)

My advice is not to send a packed lunch though. The Gov definitely won’t keep supporting FSM while parents can afford pack ups.
