When to worry about development

My DD has just turned 5 months. She is very chunky, 90th percentile for height and weight. She can sit with minimal propping and tries to bear weight on her feet when held. No professional has raised any concerns regarding her development.

However she is not rolling at all, she doesn't love tummy time and while she will raise her head and look around she doesn't push herself up or try to roll back round. I think my DS, also chunky, didn't roll till around 7 months however I just read it a baby isn't rolling from tummy to back by 5 months I should request a referral to physio?

Is 5 months late for rolling, should I be concerned?

No your baba doesn't need physio. They will roll when they're ready x

I think if baby hasn't rolled by 6 months, the advice is to check in with the health visitor, but even then, it isn't necessarily of concern – it depends what else they are doing. If they're doing other gross motor stuff, then probably all fine and they just aren't bothered about rolling (this was my DD1).

My baby only started rolling at 5.5 months (and only did it a few times even then). I really wouldn’t worry!

My first was a late roller. She did it exactly once at around 6 months, then didn't do it again until she was crawling.

My baby is 4.5 months and not rolling yet either! Hadn’t occurred to me to speak to the HV yet 😊

My DS was a late roller tbh I crnt remember the exact age but it was well beyond five months think he learnt to sit up from lying down before rolling! He's 2½ now and let me tell you he rolls jumps sumer saults the lot 🤣 don't worry your DD will do it in her own time xx

5 month old was rolling over constantly from back to tummy and in the last week he has completely stopped. No interest in doing it. He will be 6 months the start of January. Is this normal?

To update you, baby is rolling both ways and starting to crawl, I have no worries with development and realise that they all get there in their own time
