hes ok around the house when he has no pants on but as soon as the pants go on he wees and poos. Thing is he will hide away when he goes for a poo so he obviously knows and if hes in the bath he has said he needs a wee is this him being selective/lazy or just confused. I have been switching from pants to nappies and back again. Weve just had a baby, husband working away alot and then hes started pre-scholl so alot of unsettlement.

Hi

I think you've hit the nail on the head when you say that DS is unsettled.

It took me a long time to get DD1 (now 4yo) toilet trained and she still has accidents a couple of time s a week. As a result I'm not the best one to give advice. Hope someone will be along soon to offer help...good luck!

Does he want to wear pants? Does he want to be toilet trained?

I don't think you need to rush on these things, and I don't think its helpful to think he's being selective or lazy - confused is probably a fairer assessment. Id back up, take a break, and then let him lead. Let him go without pants and nappies at home if it works, and wear pull-ups when out and about.

Lots of praise, no punishment.
