Talking to son about grandma's illness

My mum has cancer. The prognosis is good, but she'll need a few months of chemo. Just looking for tips on how to talk to my 4yo DS about it. I want to strike the right balance between being honest and open, and not scaring him.

She had cancer, and will need strong medicine to make her better, but the medicine is so strong it might make her feel poorly and look funny for a while. In the end it will make her better though

At 4 he’s not going to take much in so a simple “grandmas poorly with an illness called cancer and she needs some super strong medicine to make her better” will do. You can elaborate later if needs be or if he asks questions.
