Summer Holidays with Tweens/Teens

I WFH and have my 2DC (12 & 14) for 3 full weeks and they go to their DF's for 3 full weeks.

I have a week off towards the end of August and we are going away in the UK. I have booked a Theme Park for one of the days and then the rest of the remaining 2 weeks I'm working.

What do your teens/tweens do with themselves? If I leave them to their own devices, they will literally watch tv, play on iPhone/iPad or game console, which I don't mind for a few hours a day but it seems such a waste.

For a little more info, both are adopted and have some issues around friendships, so don't really have masses of friends to "play with" which seems to be the main problem. 12 y/o also can't really be trusted to go out on her own for very long as she isn't allowed a phone (due to misusing the one she had) so I can't check in with her. 14 y/o will go to local park to kick a ball about but often there's no one there to play with.

Any ideas very welcome

I’m a single parent, with a tween & teens

I wfh full time and my kids get 8 weeks summer holidays.

We went to Spain for the first two weeks, so that leaves 6 weeks to fill. Unfortunately I have used my AL for the year so no day trips for us.

my teens are very active and like to keep busy so they are taking part in various activities and sports over the summer.

however my tween is a different ball game and my biggest worry!!!! She will sleep midnight to 12 noon everyday and then game online or draw all day. We live rurally so no option to play out with friends. She’s also had her phone removed, due to misuse (that’s a whole other thread) 🙄

I have accepted that whilst this is not ideal for the tween at least on weekdays, I then make an effort to get her out at weekends. I’ve tried to get her out a walk with me in the evenings when I finish work but she’s not even interested in that… she’s more than happy wasting everyday unfortunately

Will they do stuff together? If the older one has a phone/is a bit more sensitive could they be sent off somewhere together?
