Mine just screams no then screams they want suncream. The whole process can take 20 minutes.

I've told my DS since he was little that he can't go outside to play unless he has it on. So now he doesn't say anything, just has it put on him. And it's good as he's learnt why we have to put it on, and then told my DH off when he didn't use it and got sunburnt 🤣

You get them told. Honestly, all this negotiating with toddlers and gentle talk has gone too far.

Grip the kid, rub the suncream on

We’ve got a solar buddy which helps but it’s a non negotiable here. No sun cream, no playing outside.
Sometimes it helps to let her do mine / watch me do mine first.

do you have a partner? Try a circle - toddler watches you put it on partner, toddler is helped to put it on you, partner puts it on toddler- same thing can work with tooth brushing

Or just hold them down and do it

MamaCapybara · 19/07/2023 20:15

Put a video on and do it while they're distracted!

Use the roll on ones.

If no roll on…. If the screech when you put it on say “oh no! mommy will rub it off!” Job done 😁

Get a little travel roll on and let them 'do it themselves'

While they are distracted suncreaming the same bit of their leg over and over, whizz round the arms and legs with the proper stuff.
