I’m trying to plan/budget ahead (pregnant with our second). Our 2 year old will turn 3 in March ‘24 and so will be entitled to 30 hours free from April ‘24. She currently does 3 days a week. So this means the fees will drop from £1,060 (tax free amount being £892) to £567 as that’s what the nursery charges beyond the 30 hours free. It’s nuts it that’s much but that’s just what they seem to charge so we won’t be saving as much as I thought. So will that £567 be tax free so can I can take 20% off it? Bringing it down closer to £400? It would be so great if this is the case but I can’t seem to figure this out from what I’m reading online.

Fingers crossed the government actually comes through with the 15 free hours got 9 month olds plus from Sept ‘24 and then the 30 free hours from Sept ‘25 as it will help so much with our second!

Yes you can still use tax free childcare.

I dont agree about the funding for babies but that's another matter for another time Grin
