Baby swallowed hair band

My 12 months baby swallowed a hairband. It was in his mouth and when I approached to take it out. He sneezed and it’s just gone. There was other multiple hair bands near him as he opened new pockets and was playing with them. So I don’t know if the sneeze expelled it or it’s gone. He was lying on his back when he sneezed while the hairband in his mouth.
I cannot stop worrying. I called 111 and they said only keep an eye. This year is crazy for me, please any advice.
I am worried it gets stuck in his stomach and cause stomach damage because it’s hairband (circular shape). It has no metal on it. It’s made of fiber and plastic inside 💔

Please don’t shame me, I am having tough time as my other child diagnosed with impacted bowels so I haven’t slept or ate for a while. I am worried this one will develop some gastrointestinal issue by the hairband

It's most likely just to pass through (if it has been swallowed) given the small size of it. 111 would have told you to go to A&E if there was a high risk of issues (in my experience 111 send people to A&E at the drop of a hat). I would keep a close eye and contact them again if your son seems to be in any discomfort or you notice anything unusual, also keep an eye out for it coming out the other end. Hoping everything is fine

what Size are we talking? I’d imagine it would be quite difficult to swallow anything bigger than a tiny one so it’s more than likely come out when he’s sneezed.
otherwise if it went down easily it should pass through easily!

It’s the small elastic bands to make small Braids. He did sneeze and then I checked his mouth and was empty. I cannot be sure if he swallowed it or expelled it ?

Either way I wouldn’t worry.

oh dear. I don’t know about babies but my small dog is obsessed with eating hair bobbles and regularly pools out piles of them. They seem to pass through the digestive system quite easily. Hopefully it is the same for babies!
