Night time Nappy Leaks

Gigi89x · 13/07/2023 07:27

My DS now sleeps through he is 5 months old, he now most nights leaks wee into his sleeping bag. Wakes up soaked.

We are using size 4 Aldi Mamia nappies, is it worth me trying size 4 +? I haven't managed to find this Size in Aldi stores?

Any advice on how to stop the leaks?

Aldi do 4+ but I've only found them a handful of times and the 5's seem really big! I'm using sainsburys 4+ and they seem to be working with no leaks for the past few nights. Are you using the right size nappy's? Only asking as my 17mo is in 4+, I know all kids are different sizes but are the nappies bagging a bit too much causing the leaks maybe? X

Also just to add have you tried nappy pants? They seem to be better sometimes for the leakage and the size 4 pants in aldi are slightly bigger than size 4 nappies x

Size 3 are too small, size 4 seems to work fine for day time. Its just night we get a big leak

I think il have to buy from elsewhere to get 4+ - thanks for this

Yeah the sainsburys ones are about £3 for 48 so not a daft price, Asda ones are great too! Morrisons are the only ones I've found are useless, my DD was even leaking in the day with them! X

We had this problem and ended up swapping to the expensive pampers night ones. They seem to work much better and contain the leaks. We still use the cheaper sainsburys ones during the day.

Tiredjoanna · 13/07/2023 07:39

Go for a size 4 pampers night time pants as they have the pocket at the back to stop leaks and it works. Morrisons have them on offer alot of times for £5.50 a pack. I know not as cheap as Aldi ones but better than all the washing and an uncomfortable baby

Gabby10 · 13/07/2023 07:41

You can get free packs of pampers as well from their website- think it's 2 packs they do they just send a voucher and it's for a full size pack so might be worth doing as they are pricy x

I would size up the nappy and also check the clothes you put her to bed in. If she wears a popper body suit type top you may need to size up on that as well. If it’s too tight it won’t be allowing the nappy to expand.

Thank you all for the great tips

I have bought pampers nightime for this evening, i will also try putting him in a 6-9 vest instead of 3-6!

Was going to say pampers for night time but you've done that :)

Wet nappies at night cam also mean they're getting a bit chilly x

TunaJacket · 13/07/2023 21:48

Another one here who uses pampers at night! The only ones ive found that dont leak

AnotherCountryMummy · 13/07/2023 22:05

It's been said here, but another vote for pampers night pull ups 🙂 They were the only ones that stopped leaking for us.

Boogiebot · 13/07/2023 22:07

Get nappy pants absolute game changer. Ds slept through early but would be soaked untill we changed to pants

MrsNT · 14/07/2023 16:07

Move to size4plus. I had the exact same issue with mine woth aldi nappies when he was in size 4.

LittleG77 · 14/07/2023 16:09

Rascal and Co are brilliant nappies

Sunset6 · 14/07/2023 16:14

Our son did this every night at a similar age, no nappy seemed to hold it. What we found worked in the end was putting two nappies on at the same time - a normal one and then a nappy pant over the top. Eventually when we dropped the night feed it was no longer necessary and we went back to one.

Gigi89x · 15/07/2023 06:57

For some reason our local aldi never seems to stock 4+

Anyone else have this issue?
