Children’s book with a character called Isabelle?

My son (just by chance!) has a number of books that have his name in which he likes to read regularly. This is causing me daily problems with my daughter who has no books with her name in and I can’t take the bedtime arguments anymore! I’m aware this is ridiculous, but does anyone know of any books suitable for a child around age 4 with an Isabelle in?

The rainbow magic series of books has an Isabelle one. Along with practically every other name, as there's about 500 of them. My Isabel ( I was miffed the book spells it your way🤣) read them at 5 , she's 6 now.

Ps they're not great literature but my daughters love them!

The blossom wood unicorn series has a character called Isabelle, spelled the correct way. Not sure if they'd be too old for your daughter though. Mine is 6 and has just enjoyed them.

Thanks for the recommend ! I think my Isabel would like these, she's unicorn obsessed. Out of interest, what would you consider to be the " correct" spelling? I thought each spelling was correct to a different country.

get some made on wonderbly

Thanks these recommendations are great. Unicorns are right up her street and she will love having the blossom wood books even if she is young for them!

And as for the “right” spelling @ladygindiva I wouldn’t say any are right or wrong, I just went for the most common spelling in the UK without really thinking about it. Would probably say now that I prefer the Isobel spelling but never-mind, I still love the name!

Same; I wavered between two spellings and occasionally worry I got it wrong . It is a beautiful name, my absolute favourite. Was overruled for dd1 but got my way later on 🤣

ineedsomeperspective · 11/07/2023 21:23

We've got the above

buttercup679 · 11/07/2023 21:24

@ladygindiva I just meant correct for matching the OPs daughter!

It's a lovely name regardless of the spelling!

We have a copy of Izzy Gizmo for our Isabelle

LoveBluey · 11/07/2023 21:26

Was also coming on to say Izzy Gizmo if you use that nickname. I'm sure there's a few others with Izzy / Isabelle that we have. Will see if I can remember them and add the names.

LoveBluey · 11/07/2023 23:26

I've remembered another one with a character called Izzy.
The Woleb by Tom Fletcher

Have you searched "Isabelle book" on Amazon?

Aunt Izzie in the What Katy Did books!

She's a somewhat different character as she's portrayed as a stubborn old woman (probably at least in her 30's thinking about it!) who is forever butting heads with Katy. She's a great strong woman though if perhaps from a different angle.
She does die in the books though 🤷🏻‍♀️

ColonelSpondleClagnut · 12/07/2023 08:16

Forgot to say, they're books for an older child - not a 4year old. But one for later maybe :)
