Sweaty baby

DS just turned 1yo and for the past few days has been really sweaty. He doesn't seem to have a high temperature but the back of his neck especially is just wet with sweat and its caused a little rash (glass checked). He's not over dressed and is just in a long sleeved vest, shorts and socks. It's around 17° where I am today. Is this normal? I've never heard of a sweaty baby!

Is he very active? My son took off walking/running at one year old and he used to get really sweaty just because he never stopped moving.

Ah! That could be it? He's been walking since 10m and honestly every waking moment is spent walking! I've just never known a baby to sweat. My DD was also very active and didn't sweat, maybe it's a boy thing?

Not just a boy thing! My DD was an extremely sweaty baby, still is at 3 years old! Find I have to underdress her slightly compared to recommendations.

My 19 month old ds is sweating as a beast at night or whenever he sleeps!
Im getting really worried about this as my paediatrician told “ well it might be that he is a very sweaty toddler and thats it”
So Im here looking for any assurance 🥹
