2.5 half year old starting nursery. Had a chat with his keyworker today but totally drew a blank on what to ask or what to tell them.

Any tips or questions I should or may need to ask or any tips on what kind of thing they need to know (there is a case plan form I will be filling in) but first child so not totally sure and I know experienced parents will have things they wished they'd checked or even things that didnt occur till after.

They will ask you questions. Otherwise, if youbhave committed to that nursery there really isn't much to ask. Have you told them his usual routine and particular likes/dislikes? How you prefer him to be settled if he cries?

I've used three different nurseries and they've all had a form you complete with info about your DC, what they like, favourite foods etc as well as all the usual consent forms to sign.

In terms of things to ask them - I'd check if you need to provide waterproofs/puddle suit or do they have them. Do you need wellies for the garden. Slippers for inside? (One we used briefly had a no shoes indoors policy). Meal times so you can make sure you get there for breakfast or don't get there at dinner time when you're picking up.

What is their settling in policy?
What do they provide and what are you expected to provide?

I would recommend labelling everything so it has a vague hope coming home. I like using the woven labels as I can unpick and sell on 😂. I normally label shoes (with the name stickers), coats and jumpers (things that get taken off more regularly. I have labelled a couple of tops and trousers/shorts that I would like to come back. I do not believe for a minute about a nursery returning all items at the end of the day and not having a lost property box as other people have told me
