How to get better when poorly and breastfeeding?

So I've been ill with a cough/cold upper respiratory sort of yuckiness. My baby is only 6 weeks old so is still obviously tiny and feeding lots. Everything tells you that when you're ill you need to rest and sleep to recover but obviously that isn't happening. Between night feeds with the baby, and generally parenting her and her older sister, I'm on my knees and what I would normally shake off in a day or 2 has been around for 10 days and I'm just getting progressively worse rather than better. Chesty, phelgmy, coughing constantly. But the elusive sleep just isn't an option so what else can I do to try to get better quicker, I honestly am really struggling and a few hours broken sleep just isn't cutting it!

Just to add - I have no family nearby who can help and because she's EBF, no-one else can feed her even if they wanted to help.

If you’re coughing up green stuff you need to see a doctor. And if you’ve had it for 10 days and aren’t getting better you need to see a doctor.

Yeah you need attention before you end up on a ward.

My dn took two antibiotics at the same time when bf they adjusted her dose for bf women.

I agree go to your GP! I just want to say I completely understand, it's the toughest thing in the world. It will get better soon but maybe OH needs to take a day or 2 off work to give you a rest? As much as you can with such a tiny baby. I really feel for you

I just wanted to come back to say thank you for responding to this, I think in my poorly/sleep deprived state I was struggling to know what to do. I did ring the gp (expecting to be told they couldn't see me tbh!) However, they got me seen within 90 mins and apparently I have a left lung full of infection and now have a large dose of antibiotics. I would have definitely put it off without your wise encouragement so thankyou so much! Fingers crossed I get better fast now x
