16 month old despises baths

16 month old DS absolutely hates baths. He throws a massive tantrum every time he has one and it has started to get really difficult to control him as he gets stronger.
I really want him to enjoy water too, a bit worried that this will carry over to swimming etc.
any favourite tips / toys / games to make toddlers like baths?

Does he enjoy it if you go in with him?

DS fucking hated baths of any kind no matter what toys or fun bath things we used except those with either me or his dad until he was about 2. Funnily enough he loved swimming though and he's now 3 and has outgrown his hatred of baths, he even loves showers now too which I would never have predicted back then.

The key was just to go with it and have someone in there with him until he decided it was ok to be in there himself.

They go through stages with it. It's fine to skip a bath for a few days - just give him a good wash with a flannel! Sometimes taking the pressure off means they start to be interested again.

We had this and I think it was because DD was still in a sit up bath seat and was frustrated with that. I got rid of that and got a non slip mat and she went back to enjoying it.

We had it again then when she was a bit older for about 2 weeks and I had to go in with her for a few days and then just started getting out before the end and she went back to being ok with it again x
