Dummy for naps but not at night?

Hi,
my 5 month old has become nearly impossible to nap, the only way I can nap her is by walking around the house with her in a cradle position for about 10 mins before she sleeps. Tried pram, car seat, bouncer nothing will work. She gets tired when I feed her to sleep and drops off but as soon as.I put her back in cot she wakes, I’m thinking maybe a dummy will help keep her asleep? Her night time sleep is good on the whole and settles pretty quickly so don’t want to introduce a dummy in the day if she then wants to start using it at night. I would love to contact nap with her all day but I have a toddler to look after. Any advice thank you

She probably won't take one at this age regardless to be honest. You tend to need to introduce them early. If she learns to use it as a sleep aid she will probably want it at bedtime as well. I think they're great - definitely the reason our daughter has slept so well. She only has it naps and bedtime, planning to wean it once she's old enough to understand dummy fairy or similar.

Ok thanks for the advice, yes wish we had introduced it much earlier, she didn’t seem to need one up until now annoyingly!

No harm trying, just saying it's less likely she'll take it at this age. But I'd accept you might end up using it for all sleep - they essentially use it as a sleep crutch so unlikely to learn to use it at some times of day but not others.
