What size bed?

What size bed does your 3 year old have? I’m looking to upgrade my son’s bed from a toddler bed but not sure whether to just get a single or small double. Space isn’t an issue, both would fit comfortably but just not sure if the small double would be too big for him?

Mine has a single. A double would fit in his room
but would have minimised the amount of space to play in there. He’s got a big bookcase and a few toys with one of those road mats. He likes to brum his cars around it. A double would have eaten into that space. If you can fit everything in his room comfortably, why not a double?

He has a single at home due to space but has slept in a small double on holiday. Either is fine. He's currently in his single bed with about 86 cuddly toys and a pile of Lego so I wish we did have room for a double...

Both of mine have a double. We have the space and hopefully they'll have them for a long time. If they have nightmares I can get in with them and sometimes I end up in one of their beds with both of them 😍

I would stick with a single just to cut down on laundry and leave more playing space. I think most under 12s would prefer extra space to prat about.

Agree with this. Floor space and room to play is more important than a big bed for young children.

Unless it's literally just a room to sleep in and he has a playroom to use I'd stick with the smaller bed to allow him more playing space.

If he’s 3, I’d wait a bit longer. 5 is a good time and go for a single. My teen has a long narrow room, so he has a single

Small double. Love it! I often fall asleep in it with her 😁

She has a big bedroom though! I totally agree, don't give up floor play space for a bigger bed.

Mine has a mid sleeper bed as she’s in the box room and it gives her play space on the floor.
