Pram advice for baby and toddler

I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant and we’ve got a 20month old who walks but definitely still needs a pram for long walks and naps (I don’t drive). We have an icandy peach and had planned to convert it to a double but we had a problem with the baby stuff in storage making it all pretty unusable so we’ve now got to spend out a lot than we’d expected last minute. Also they’ve discontinued the colour we have so we’d basically be spending nearly £400 for a mismatched pram 😫

I think we’re better off buying a cheap double but don’t know what to go for. I think a tandem would be better than a side by side as my toddler often falls asleep on the way back from classes and I leave him to nap in his pram. A side by side wouldn’t fit through our door (there’s a porch you have to go through first) without getting both DC out and folding it down.

Out n about nipper double is the same as width as my icandy peach, it fits through all doors I've tried. Really easy to push and lies flat for newborn

Sorry, I don't understand what the issue is about converting the iCandy?

I have a 13 month age gap and got an iCandy peach double, no issues, I loved it.

Have you looked at the Peach secondhand, you might well find you can pick a doubles set up easily and cheaply and make one double pram out of the best bits of both? Peaches seem to be frequently available and at good prices around my way so you may find a gem that way? I spent ages looking for a secondhand Lime or Orange so saw lots of Peaches along the way!

I had a Mountain Buggy Duet and it fitted through every door I tried and on all sizes of buses including those glorified minibus type ones.

They’ve discontinued the colour we have. It wouldn’t be the end of the world but £400 is a lot to spend on a mismatched cream that will have limited resale value.

I’ll look on Marketplace, thank you.

Hi there,

I had an ICandy Peach and when my DS was born I bought the adaptors so I was able to put his Maxi Cosi car seat on the bottom of the ICandy and my DD went in the ICandy rumble seat on top. When DS was too long in the car seat I would alternate with him in the sling. It might be a cheaper option until you decide on a double and if your fist is a good walker you may not need to get a double at all this way. Hope that helps

I had a mountain buggy duet for my eldest 2, 18 months apart, it's still being used for my 3rd child who is looked after with his cousin. Amazing pram, fits through a normal door, it's exactly the same width as our joolz day, also lies flat. I got the carrycot but my 2nd child only fitted in it for 5/6 weeks, he was 8lb 2 born, it was a squeeze even newborn. It goes completely flat so he just went in the normal seat, I wouldn't have bothered with the carrycot if I'd known, it was pointless. Apart from that fab pram, very robust and still going strong exactly 6 years on.

We'd always planned on converting our Peach to a double but the cost was ludicrous and we had/have a limited edition colour so second had difficult to find or mismatching.

Got a Bugaboo Donkey off marketplace but wasn't impressed and a few days later saw a Mountain Buggy Duet on there so got that and passed on the Donkey. The Mountain Buggy is incredible - absolutely brilliant pushchair (apart from when you have to deal with tyre punctures...) and we often reflect on what a fantastic purchase it was. Not found a door it doesn't fit through yet! Still using it with 3y4m and 18m!
