Breast feeding and dummy use

Hi everyone does anyone have any experience with using a dummy when with a breastfed baby. Babe is now 7 weeks, we started using a dummy just for car rides as she would cry if not sleeping. This has slowly progressed to using it for non contact napping in the last week or so. Naps are going well but I have noticed that she seems to get angry/fussy at the breast in the evenings now and I'm concerned it's due to dummy use.

Anyone successfully use a dummy when ebf or have any similar experiences? Thank you in advance x

Dd had a dummy since few days old and I bf for 3.5 years. Combi fed for 1st 4-5 days (I was very unwell after birth), bf only after that for 6 months. We had no issues due to dummies.

It's fine. Like pp I mix fed at first then just breastfed until 2 and a half years old (with solid food by then obvs!) Dd had a dummy sometimes but tbh never took to it much. I was always there to give a bf instead. We used it to try and help get her to sleep but it didn't help much, she's always been a shockingly terrible sleeper.

Tbf I'd have loved it if she could use the dummy in the car. Instead she pretty much screamed whenever she was in the car until she was over a year old. If the dummy works, use it!

I've ebf three children (first two until 18 months, still going with third) who've had dummies from very early on (for all sleep and naps and often for comfort too) and there's never been any issues.

Same as PP.

DD had a dummy from a few weeks old (no regrets at all I cannot believe the sleep we've had thanks to it!) And I EBF her until about 20 months.

I think around 7 weeks they start to get a bit fussy anyway, more aware of the world around them, and their growing mouths latch differently too. So basically a lot of other stuff going on and fussiness unlikely due to dummy use!

Thanks all for your replies! I've decided to stick with as she's not actually overly fussed by dummy, will have it sometimes but would rather boob I think! I'll probably be begging her yo take it in a few weeks! Haha!
