8 week old baby sticking your head out WHILST feeding

My baby has started sticking her tongue out whilst feeding from a bottle.

She strains alot trying to pass wind and when she does this whilst feeding (maybe around 70% of her feeds are like this at present) she will cry and open her mouth for the bottle but when I put the bottle up to her mouth she sticks her tounge out to block it? But then as soon as I move it away she crys for it. We will do this back and forth until she eventually decides to take it.

Any ideas as to what’s happening?

I've always had this! I was BF to start, turns out she was allergic so on special formula now. I've just changed the teet and she is doing it less, also have to wind her constantly 😭 so I think with her issue was wind and the teet. Got some size 2 medium flow, with a mam anti-colic bottle and seems to be happier now, feeds are quicker too with less fussing. Think she was getting grumpy that it wasn't easy to get the milk out.. (she would also bend the teet with her tongue and block it)

I’m already using size two teats and anti colic bottles, as well as anti reflux formula once a day. I did consider an allergy but the health visitor kind of dismissed that 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was dismissed for 3 months 🥲 kept being given different treatments over the phone for each symptom. Since they finally saw her and we went onto allergy formula she is a different baby! How much feed is she taking at the moment?

It varies feed to feed. Sometimes 2oz next 5oz. She is getting between 16-240z a day depending on feeds x

My 2 month old does this and has been diagnosed with silent reflux. It can make them strain, arch their backs, refuse the feed then want it again, cry during feeding. We started using infant Gaviscon prescribed by doctor and it has really helped
Perhaps your baby is going red and straining due to having silent reflux or reflux issues rather than wind?
