Hey guys. My 8 month old has a really itchy face and has a rash, especially around his mouth. It’s on his forehead a bit too and his cheeks. He’s teething right now too, two teeth came out last night and two more will come out soon. Can this rash and itch be because he’s teething or is it something else? What can I do to help him as he’s so uncomfortable and itching his face a lot?

Try some antihistamine.
Are you sure it’s not impetigo ?

This is what the rash looks like. It’s redder than it looks in the picture though

Hand foot and mouth?

Assuming he's fairly new to weaning, has he eaten something today that he hasn't eaten a lot of previously that could have caused a reaction? Strawberries / other soft fruits / peanut butter / eggs are often the culprits but if could be anything.

He hasn’t really eaten anything new, could it be allergy to clothes or something? The only thing I can think of is teething? Because two of his teeth came out last night and that’s when the rash got worse. He did have a bit of a rash yesterday but it got worse today. Should I make an appointment with the GP? I can’t until Monday

@dreamerkr Yes, teething can cause a rash or it could be something else like laundry powder / toiletries (not just his - has he had a cuddle with someone with perfume / moisturiser that could have got on his skin?).
I would probably consult the GP or health visitor but it's not urgent unless he's distressed, seems unwell or it's spreading.
