DS who is 8 started vomiting shortly after coming home from school yesterday. Since then he is unable to hold anything down. Is there any anti-sickness I can give him? Or anything else to settle his stomach?

Don’t give him anything. His system is trying to get it out of him, let that happen.

stop all food for 24 hours and stop drinks for 2 hours. Then start with very tiny sips of water.

If he is normally healthy, this is a normal sickness bug, just let it run it’s course

For 12 hours he had no food and drink. He slept whole night without vomiting. Had small food and water this morning and he vomited it all out half an hour after eating it.

Look at the NHS advice page if you haven't already https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/diarrhoea-and-vomiting/

The main thing to be cautious of is dehydration - if he continues to be unable to keep water down, and starts to show signs of dehydration, that would be when to seek further medical advice in case he needs some supportive care (e.g. worst case a trip to A&E for IV fluids and anti-nausea medication).
