Pocket money - how young is too young?

We have a four year old and like most parents use a reward system for good/not so good behaviour.

At the moment we say after x amount they can have a toy but I wondered if she is too young to turn this to money? We do try and teach her about money but I think she'd enjoy having a purse like me etc and seeing for herself the value of money.

Probably overthinking but wondered if anyone does this with their four year old or if I should wait. Thanks!

Definitely not too young! Just keep it simple by trying to stick to pounds rounded up and not tonnes of change. And consider what you’re giving her can add up to something she’d like, so if 10 gold stars get her a toy worth £10 usually then each gold star should be worth £1, so it’s attainable
