Overfeeding 6 month old?

Was feeding my 6 month old breakfast and my mom says I'm over feeding her. I give her a whole banana for breakfast, I use the whole banana mashed up and just let her take what she wants from it. She eats most of it and leaves a little bit. Is this too much for a 6 month old or is it ok? If baby wasn't hungry then she wouldn't eat it?

If she's self feeding she won't over feed herself - babies are really good at regulating. Ignore your mum and let her eat as much or as little as she wants and she'll be grand :)

No not at all let her eat as much as she likes my ds is just over 6 months and he has his morning bottle and then a bowl of banana porridge and has also has dinner x

You are good hun. My DS has just turned one and I promise you would have demolished that in seconds at 6 months and demanded more! He is a tiny thing but my lawd does he love his food!

My six month old will demolish anything you put in front of him, he eats an astonishing amount. But he’ll bang his spoon and shout when he’s done, like a tiny fat Norse god, self-regulating.

Banana can be constipating for some babies so offer water with it, otherwise it’s fine.
