How do you save all your photos of your kids? I have an android phone and they've been saving to Google photo but my storage space has just ran out and I've hD to fork out bloody 7.99 a month! That works out at almost &100 a year which seems ridiculous! Is there a better way to back up photos that's not too hard? I'm not very tech savvy!

I'm doing the same - its a lot of money across a year!

I'm going to get a memory stick - transfer them on a computer to it and keep that.
It's not immediate so will need to add new photos to it periodically, but I'll remove the ones saved to it from my phone to free up space to take more each time.
That's my plan anyway - but may well be a better way the more tech savvy can suggest!

We just transferred a bunch off our phones to a portable hard drive. Decent ones aren't cheap (memory sticks way cheaper), but you can get ones with a LOT of space on them. Probably more than you'd ever need for photos and even short videos.

I think we'll probably use Google Photo as backup cloud storage but really heavily curate what we keep there.

I got a Toshiba 2 terabyte (2,000 gigabytes) portable hard drive last month for £70 which is not much for the amount of storage that you get, enough to back up all my phone/camera photos (13,000 pictures, 36 gigabytes) and make periodic backups of my whole Windows install on the desktop PC (around 70 GB) and the laptop (around 50 GB) and tons of other things. I think you really need some kind of backup of things that you'd be screwed without.

@LaBefana you mean like a hard drive? I was thinking this too but all of my photos from the like 3.5 years have been uploaded onto Google photos. Is there a way to mass download them onto a hard drive? The reason I've not done this is because I have no time with 2 young kids and then I am also not very tech savvy to say the least....

I have 2 drawers full of proper photos of me and family and children from my early childhood. So more satisfying to look through than flicking images on a phone or whatever.

We keep only about 30-50 photos per year, we print them & they are stored digitally.

It's plenty, we look at them every few months.

So if advise having a cull!
