My foot caught the pram break!

Can anyone put my mind at ease, I was walking with my baby in the pram and it started to rain so I was doing a quick walk but my foot caught the break and the pram came to a sudden holt! Will my baby be okay? He was sat up slightly but I’m worried his head would of jolted forward

He’ll be absolutely fine. Don’t worry x

FlounderingFruitcake · 26/06/2023 11:32

Eh? I probably do this about once a week…

madeofcheeze · 26/06/2023 11:39

Honestly, he'll be fine. This happens all the time.

Your baby will be fine. I remember stressing because I’d gone over cobblestones, gone over bumpy gravel, knocked the pram a bit getting off bus, you name it. Babies are more resilient than they look!

Topseyt123 · 26/06/2023 14:06

I bashed my pram about plenty. It and the babies were always fine. It's not as if you hurled it off a cliff or under a bus.

Bikingwithbabies · 26/06/2023 14:09

FWIW, my then toddler managed to tip the whole pushchair over with him in it and landed on his face on the pavement. It looked very bad but by the next day it was barely noticeable. Presumably baby goes in the car with you and sometimes you brake quite sharply? This is basically the same.

EllaRaines · 26/06/2023 14:17

My children's father sent the pram over the cliffs at Westcliff on sea and had to give chase! I wasn't there but apparently it was like a scene from a Buster Keaton film! Grin

Baby completely unharmed.

If you find yourself worrying about stuff like this perhaps have a word with your GP or health visitor as it's not a normal reaction to be so anxious about a trivial thing.

Mightactuallygoonholiday · 26/06/2023 14:40

I once stopped to rescue a worm on the path, knelt down and somehow tipped my baby out of the pram and on to the concrete floor. Go me! I freaked out and called an ambulance, but she was fine.

MrsTwiggy · 26/06/2023 14:44

Bless you, he's fine! ❤️

I run five miles a day and I’m eight months pregnant. My baby is fine. My first baby fell off the sofa onto tiles. Also fine. You putting a brake on momentarily is not going to have done anything…

BSTAMEX · 26/06/2023 20:51

Really...

ThursdayFreedom · 26/06/2023 20:59

Your baby will be just fine x

YRGAM · 26/06/2023 21:50

I am over six feet and when ds was young probably did this about once every hundred metres!

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 26/06/2023 21:53

Do you think he’s gonna have whiplash or something? He’ll be fine don’t worry about it

Things that happened to my babies:

I forgot to strap the car seat to the car and my baby ended up upside down in their seat in the foot well of the car the first time I used my brakes.

Spun themself off my massive king-size bed and then under it in the time it took me to turn my head and reach out

Tripped over the bottom of some french doors onto a hard tiled kitchen floor with my baby in my arms. I managed to spin around so the baby landed on me but still had a bit of a jolt.

None of these things were great and most due to being completely sleep deprived. Accidents happen. My babies are all happy, healthy and thriving young people now.

Please don't harangue yourself for one tiny misstep. If your baby seems to be their usual self then there is absolutely nothing for you to worry about.

lalalandara · 26/06/2023 22:00

Bless you. I always remember a midwife telling me in the hospital to remember how your baby is born: they're much more resilient than they look, even as newborns! Made me feel a lot better. Don't worry, your little one will be totally fine.
