Party bags for 6 year olds

My Daughters 6th birthday is coming up.

I'm thinking of ideas for the party bags. I normally fill them with bubbles, haribo, some stretchy toy & generally pretty useless stuff.
I haven't got a tonne of money so I want to put things in the party bag that aren't tat & will actually get played with rather than get put in the bin after one use.

Any ideas? Thanks

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can buy sets of books which work out at our £1 each (things like Horrid Henry and Paddington). The Works also has 10 books for £10 deals though some may be a bit young.

Books are great if you can get a good price like above.
Bubble wands with a thank you label tied on and a piece of cake.
Look in Home bargains for a summer themed item like a cool cup with straw or something and fill with cheap sweets, then add a thank you label.

£1 sun catcher set from hobbycraft and a piece of cake

Bath bombs - I love them as I don't have to find a home for them and they aren't plastic. You can buy a big bag on Amazon.

Do sweet cones and a piece of birthday cake, cheap, easy and kids love sweets.

Most of the Asda own brand sweets are vegetarian so just buy lots of packets, tip everything into a bowl, give it a good mix then scoop into the cones so they have an assortment of everything in each cone.

I also hate party bags. I did them for the first time today for my 6 year old son. I did gel pens, water pistol, pack of smarties, duck food, and styrofoam airplane (hate these but someone gave us a pack and my son didn't want them so I redistributed). I guess depends on your budget and how many kids. We did a super small party of 5 kids including my son so I kind of went all out.

Other ideas
Play dough
Rubbers
Stickers
Candy
Pool toys - sinkers etc
Beach ball
Frisbee
Butterfly net
Lego bricks or minifigure
Water balloons

Don't be afraid to do secondhand or literally just do one item that's a good item. My sons friends loved the water pistols and I got them for £2 each.

B&M had a good selection of stuff. Also home bargains and Asda.

We had my DD's 6th birthday party yesterday and did a lucky dip instead of party bags - got a load of little toys from a charity shop (and a few from the bottom of their toy box), wrapped them in tissue paper and stuck them all in a box.

Also ordered a couple of kilo bags of sweets and some small paper bags from Amazon and divvied them up, so they got one of those each as well.

Wasn't sure how it would go down but they all absolutely loved it!
