Hair in baby’s belly button…

Hi! I have a 5 month old baby boy, and have just noticed a tuffs coarse hair growing from within his belly button… I saw a dark patch and thought it was just fluff, so I gently moved it around and saw the hair. I didn’t want to prod it or examine it too much in case it was uncomfortable.

anyone else’s baby have this? Is it normal?

My DD could grow potatoes in her belly button at times and my DS once had a long hair in his that was either stuck to something or it grew there (probs not obviously) and I had to pull it out.

Hi did you ever find out what it was? I’ve just noticed on my nearly 3 month old the same thing. Seems like his tummy hurts aswell but may be nothing related as mr other children are ill. But he has a thick black hair growing out of his belly button and he has blonde hair so it’s very strange and literally come out of the blue

No I didn’t! I asked a doctor (not a paediatrician) and he had no idea! I did gently pull one and a very long hair came out (without causing any pain) which makes me think it was one of mine…

Hahaha all our hair is blonde so I don’t think it’s one of ours, this looks likes it’s grown out of it he’s got an outi belly button and looks likes it’s growing out of one of the creases, I don’t dare pull it but I’ve tried wiping it and no moving!
