Ear protection on plane

Hi all,
My baby has just turned one, we're having our first family trip abroad today! I have bought muffy ear defenders for her to wear during our flight.
My question is, would she need to wear them for the entire flight? Is it really necessary?
I wish I had put them on her in the run up to holiday more to get her used to them but I haven't, hoping she leaves them alone on the flight and settles ok.
Just don't want to worry about it if she insists on taking them off on the flight.
Thanks x

I've never seen a baby wearing ear defenders on a plane and I fly a lot. Occasionally I see an older kid with them - I assume for sensory issues. Is it the plane noise you are worried about? I can say I gave it a second thought.

We didn't with my 5 month old and 2 year old and they were absolutely fine

I've never seen a child wearing ear defenders on a plane. What are they for?

Why would she need them?

I don't think plane noise is something to worry about. It might cause ear pain due to the pressure during take off and landing but ear defenders won't stop that.

Took my two on many flights, never gave them ear defenders. planes aren’t that loud - normally the defenders are for sports matches or similar

Hi I'm going on an all inclusive holiday over Xmas and New year's. Do I need ear defenders for my 1 year old for the evening entertainment or flight? Thanks
