Potty training and swimming

I've been potty training my DD the last 4 weeks and it's been going very well, we're going on holiday on Friday and it occurred to me, do we need swim nappies now?

What does everyone else do?

We're going on holiday next week and DD will be wearing a reusable swim nappy. She's been potty trained a couple of months but still has the odd accident, typically when she's distracted and having loads of fun! Don't want to be the family who clear the pool with a code brown even if it's unlikely...

Of course you need swim nappies

My first daughter potty trained by 2.5 , night trained at 3 but we still used swim nappies till she turned 4. We got a reusabke pull-up one and put a Gappy Nappy over the top. A poo accident in the pool is a health hazard and closes the pool!

*That should say Happy Nappy!

I wouldn't bother with a nappy. Has she had a single poo accident since you started? Does she poo in the bath? If yes to either of those then maybe. But otherwise I wouldn't bother tbh. Both my kids potty trained fairly early, just before 2, and swam nappy free from the start of training with no problems.

Our pool says six weeks.

I think it depends on the child, but I'd want at least a few months accident free.

No she hasn't had any poo accidents at all, and she has one every day.

If she has a predictably timed poo then even better. You know she goes at 10am? Make sure she's not in the pool then! Appreciate things might be different on holiday but you know your child. It sounds to me like she'll be fine.

We've just been away and despite DD being Potty trained for 6 months I did put a swim nappy on her. Even though she's not had a poo accident for months, I didn't want to be that person who closed the pool and saw no harm in putting one on just in case she was having too much fun. She was fine and asked us to go to the toilets for a wee so I probably shouldn't or worried and when we go away in October though I'll probably not bother. 4 weeks in I'd definitely would though.
