DS(3) being bitten at school.

That's it basically. My DS age 3 is being bitten at school. Every time by the same child. I don't know if he is also biting anyone else or just my boy. I know it's not uncommon behaviour for their age group but I feel like I should be doing something. Although what that is I'm unsure. The teacher is always very apologetic but then it's hardly her fault. What would you do? I find it very upsetting but feel like there's nothing I can do. Advice please.

Part of a teacher's job is to keep the children safe. I would ask for a meeting with the teacher and concentrate your questions around that. It's not acceptable.

The teacher is clearly aware of what is going on. It is a safeguarding matter - it is not true that there is nothing she can do. She and her staff can make sure that this boy is kept away from yours whenever possible; they can be especially vigilant when the two are in the same room; they can act appropriately with the biter when/if it occurs. It is a safeguarding issue for the biter and the bitten - this child is behaving inappropriately - what is he seeing at home? ... how do the people around him relate to one another? All children bite now and again but stop pretty quickly when consequences follow - this boy is habitually doing it so something is amiss.

You need to insist that the two are kept apart.

The biter clearly needs someone with him at all times to keep your son and other children safe! I'd want to know what the school is doing to stop this kid hurting others. As previously mentioned the biter needs help if he's not responding to being told off.
