Baby roast dinner

Okay, so I'm worrying quite a bit. My 9 month old DS is with my MIL and she gave him a bit of mashed up roast dinner with gravy, and I'm panicking because I know she adds salt to her veggies, and obviously the gravy she used (bisto) has loads of salt in and now I'm convinced he's had way too much salt and will be harmed from it.

I have really awful health anxiety and it doesn't just stop at me it goes for the one I love too so I'm really a bit all over the place because I'm worried about him.

Don't worry. He will be absolutely fine.

A little bit of one salted meal will be fine. I assume from your post the vast majority of his meals are unsalted? He will be fine.

A one off - absolutely fine x

It's fine. If she's going to make stuff regularly for him then you can get low salt stock cubes and stuff. I'm sure he enjoyed it!

Im sorry this is worrying you so much.

With health guidelines such as salt intake, it’s worth remembering that the advice given is for overall dietary pattern rather than just for a specific day. So one high salt day is completely fine, but high salt every day could eventually cause problems.

Thank you everyone for replying so fast!

I use those stock cubes with no salt in at all usually, and the food he has normally is very low is salt because of my anxiety being so bad. I am getting help though so I know I wont be this way forever!

Really appreciate everyone’s replies xx
