Hi All,

Starting to look into bits and bobs for my baby who is due in December. Would like some recommendations in regards to bottles?

TIA

I use mam and highly rate them!

I second mam bottles! You can sterilise them in the microwave which has been a great help in my tiny kitchen and disorganised mind.

Congratulations! We introduced DD to expressed milk from bottles at 6 weeks and found that the Nanobebe ones worked well with slow flow teats. They're shaped a bit like boobs. I've also heard that MAM bottles are a good shout, and Dr. Brown's bottles work well for babies with reflux. You might have to try a couple of different types to see which baby likes when they get here though, so I wouldn't over-invest too much in advance.

I’ve used Tommie tippee. With a microwave steriliser.

Congratulations!
Do you already know how you are planning to sterilise baby's things?
And are you planning to bottle feed only or will you try BF as well?

We did mixed feeding with our first and are now doing BF with occasional top up for our second. Our preferred bottles are the Mams because they are self-sterilise and we didn't want to buy / didn't have space for a separate steriliser. We just pop them in the microwave after cleaning.
Our babies both drank very well from it too, we never had issues with colic.

We tried several to find what worked best for wind with both DS.

Ended up with Avent for DS1 and Dr Browns with DS2.

Also went round the houses with sterilising too - ended up settling on cold water sterilising in a bucket.

Mam bottles are the best I've used. No leaking and can sterilise in microwave.

Had Tommy Tippee with my first and they all starting leaking within a few months and definitely wouldn't buy again.

I introduced a bottle at 4 months and we went for MAM. We also used their dummies.
Liked that we could microwave them to sterilise if needed but we ended up just using a Milton cold water steriliser as our everyday one 😊

Whatever you go for, I would buy a few to get you started and see how it goes 😊 I know a couple of people who had to trial a few brands before they found what worked for their baby 😊

Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

Mam bottles definitely and mam dummies too - easy to sterilise in the microwave.
Congratulations too ☺️

Going against the grain here - we ended up using Lansinoh on the recommendation of a lactation consultant because we were combi feeding and it was less confusing for DD with the teat shape. We also used medela before that which DD was fine with. MAM gave her horrific wind ( we tried several times, several weeks apart) but she really likes the dummies.

Are you doing an antenatal class? I recommend seeing if anyone wants to team up to create your own selection box, eg buy a pack of 2 of each brand, take 1 each and split the cost. Then you can try different ones and it is a bit cheaper. It makes me really cross this doesn’t exist already!
