7 month old with apparent hayfever - help!

I think my 7 month old has hayfever. I feel like I’ve tried everything. He’s awake sneezing and coughing all night. I’ve tried:

  • Saline nasal spray
  • Vicks
  • Vaseline dabbed around his nose
  • Air purifier
  • Cough medicine
  • Keeping him indoors, keeping windows shut
  • Calpol plug-in thing
Nothing has made a blind bit of difference. Please tell me there’s some magic solution out there…

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

(Follow up question: can babies inherit allergies? I also have extremely bad food allergies and hay fever, and carry an epipen)

See your gp.
Piriton can be bought over the counter for age 1+ but can be prescribed for under 1year olds if required.

My LO had to take Piriton prescribed at that age for hay fever

How long has it been going on for? If it's some time and not just since the pollen count has been high, have you considered a dairy allergy? Very common and can definitely cause congestion.
