Hi,
pregnant at the moment, will have a 21 month old when my second baby arrives.
i have been looking at the babybjorn and ergo baby carriers but they are so pricey!
so question is what is the best budget baby carrier? Preferably less than £50
thank you 🙏🏼

I would probably look for an ergo baby or a boba x on Facebook marketplace. I tried the infantino one and the difference is massive

Can you get to a sling library and try some on? I borrowed a few when I had DS1 so when DS2 came I knew what I liked and picked them up on FB marketplace second hand really cheaply. I had a Close Caboo for the early months and then switched to a Connecta. I didn't find the more structured ones very comfortable or easy to use, but it's worth seeing what works best for you.

Second hand? I sold both of mine on for a decent second hand price.

I would suggest trying some at your local sling library www.slingpages.co.uk

That budget will get you something lovely second hand. I'd suggest a connecta or integra (around £30), or a beco Gemini (more difficult to find second hand but £65 on Amazon). Maybe an izmi carrier, but they tend to be less comfortable and less long lasting (baby age wise) than a connecta.

I would NOT buy any other carriers on Amazon as there are many fake ergos, and then some horribly uncomfortable hip seat ones like bebeamour.

You may be able to get something like an ergo 360 Omni second hand for that budget but always ask for proof of purchase from an authorised retailer to avoid fakes. Also the ergo omnis don't tend to fit until around 6-8 weeks, they are very bulky, whereas a connecta, integra or izmi will fit from day 1.

I also suggest sling library too. Your body shape and type will determine what fits you best. Everyone recommended ergo baby to me but I found it horrendous on. I used an infantino for a while, on the wide setting when my baby was old enough it was a dream for me but I found woven slings better for us both than any structured carrier.
