What should a 14 month toddler wear to bed if room 25 degrees. She usually wears a sleeping bag but it's been so warm, last few nights has woke crying I'm guessing from the heat, first night she just had a short sleeve vest, I thought she woke crying cus she used to having sleeping bag thought her legs feel cool so next night she had vest and 0.5 tog bag, still woke back of neck clamy, I don't have a fan and I keep blinds closed during the day, any other recommendations

My 8 month old is sleeping in just a nappy and vest with a light muslin over him. He has a fan too but not pointing directly at him. It’s v tricky with little ones in this weather!

Firstly I'd get a fan today if you can.

I'd probably put her to bed in her lightest sleeping bag on its own as she will probably feel weird without it if she's used to one.

Just lightweight bag and nappy. Are you leaving window open in her bedroom in the night? You could also try having door to that room open if it’s normally closed, so air circulates better.

Sleep in the coolest room in your home?

My house is similar temperature, toddler is in coolest room in the house though and runs cool usually anyway. Wearing a 0.5 tog and light short/t-shirt PJs, also with the window open all night. Newborn runs warm and is in just nappy and 0.5tog cotton swaddle bag.

I bathe toddler everyday before bed to get all the suncream off as that can block pores and contribute to overheating!

We have a fan, and DD sleeps in a nappy. She's 15 months. During the day she'll wear a romper/shorts and T-shirt or a dress. No vest. Plenty of sunscreen and a hat.

Our toddlers room is about the same temperature and he's happily sleeping in just a nappy. He usually has a 2.5 tog sleeping bag but he's coping fine with just the nappy now so I don't think they necessarily become dependent on sleeping bags just because they use them normally.
