Sht sht sh*t!! We’ve had so much life hitting you in the face stuff happen recently that it completely escaped me that it DC’s last day in her current nursery room tomorrow 😨

She’s been there a year and she’s really attached to her keyworker but there are a few other workers she really likes and they’ve been ever so lovely to her and us.

She’s only moving room not setting but I feel awful as I don’t want to turn up empty handed. It just honestly slipped my mind it was happening so soon!

Theres a big Sainsbury’s nearby which I could pop into on the way to nursery but she starts really early in the day. Or I could pop in after I drop her off and give them something at pick up (although that will be a massive flag that I forgot 😅)

Appreciate some thought would’ve been nice but I just completely dropped the ball on this one.

Thank you in advance x

Plant or costa or other voucher.

I always get Amazon vouchers. I'm sure you can print them off.

Lifeispassingby · 13/06/2023 19:39

You can buy all kinds of vouchers in the supermarkets these days- why not do that with a nice plant/bunch of flowers? I’m a nursery worker and bringing it at home time wouldn’t be an obvious you’d forgotten I’d think it was nice as the final time we’re seeing each other!

Thank you for the ideas x
Might go for a nice plant for keyworker and box of chocolates and thank you card for the room. Not very original I appreciate but budget and time constraints means its this over nothing! 😅

Our Sainsbury is open at 7am. Pop in and get a box of muffins and pastries as a staff room treat?

As a nursery nurse, in this weather, I'd say ice lollies would go down very well! BUT only if you know they have a freezer to store them in.

Bake something, brownies or cookies or something, shows care and time. Wrap them up really nicely.

My last minute gift one year, which went down really well (so I repeated it quite a few times) was a miniature bottle of gin, mini can of tonic and a real lemon, wrapped in green and yellow tissue in a pretty box or gift bag.
