Baby hands

Hi there,

my baby is 12m and has been very social and has been to lots of activities etc. She doesn’t like me to show her things with her hands. I noticed this since she was small. At yoga they said to take your baby’s hands and move them in different directions and my baby would pull her hands away. At swimming now all the other babies let their parents put their hands on the side but my baby pulls her hands away from me. She will copy the action but doesn’t want me to show her.

is anyone else’s baby like this? Is this normal?

This is my son too! He is 15 months and has always refused me showing him with his hands, pulls away instead and has now started tantruming if I dare try to help him using his hands. He just seems to want to do things his way? He has also always refused spoon feeding- similar reason I think. Think it’s normal, just stubbornly independent 😂

Yea I've never been able to get baby hand prints for this reason! Try not to take it personally they all have their wee quirks x

Oh my goodness yes. God help me if I try to gently take her hands to demonstrate anything or help her. The minute she feels me getting hold of them she snatches them away and shakes her head angrily 😂

@Moriquendi the spoon feeding! She has always wanted to do it herself. So determined. I hope she’s just really strong willed and determined… or do I? 😂

My baby's the same 12months in 6 days they are just so independent think they can do everything them selves if I'm not holding his hands to guide him to walk (still not walking yet) then he's not interested😂

Mammadibambini · 11/06/2023 22:36

@honeyy123 happy birthday for 6 days! Mine is 12 months in 4! here’s to strong babies!
