Children too rough playing garden football

Anyone else had this problem. About 4 local children, playing football. Had been an enjoyable experience all round. Now another child has joined and he plays rough. Sliding tackles, stamping on ankles, pushing kids. There is a brick wall around the garden in question, so it's getting risky to be pushed into that. Maybe I could say something about not doing anything that would get a yellow card in a real match. Any other ideas. I've had to put rules in before with older cousins about other things (eg no high speed running, no throwing balls to hit) and they worked quite well

Take the ball away and tell them why. Call a time out. No need for that in your own garden!

How old is this boy? Is he the same age as the others? I'd stop them playing football with him specifically. And I'd absolutely tell the kid why!!

Pink Footstool, thank you. I think that's fair. I've a responsibility to all the parents (including his) to keep the children safe of possible
