Potty training help

DD is 23 months and showing all the signs of readiness. First day went surprisingly well, a few accidents but a few big wees and a poo in the potty and telling me she needed to go just in time to get her there.

Days 2 and 3 seem to be getting worse. I know she has the bladder control, this morning she was dry for three hours. But she's stopped saying 'wee wee potty' and when I notice the signs she needs to go and say it's time to sit on the potty and bring her there, she completely freaks out. Or she'll dribble a bit and get upset and when I bring her to the potty she won't continue the wee.

We Introduced chocolate buttons today but that doesn't seem to be working either.

So, I know she's physically capable, and she fully comprehends the concept (she'll say 'wee wee potty' 'no wee wee floor' 'bye bye nappies' etc) but she won't actually do the deed!

Unless there's a breakthrough this afternoon we'll have to shelve it for a few weeks and try again. Any advice?

I'd stick with it it sounds like she did well to start with. Try reading a book on the loo

@rightioly I know, I really want to, and I do believe she can do it. But she has to go to nursery on Tuesday and at this rate I can't send her without a nappy.

I've tried reading books (she loves books!) but she wants to sit in my lap every time!

Make the potty fun? Like for instance when my 3yo needed to poo but didn't want to sit on the potty, we put on a pirate song and sang it when he sat (then he had a chocolate button when he'd been).
