My 4 month old has only napped for 30 mins today

Writing this just to vent my frustration. My first was such a good sleeper. I for the love of me cannot get my 4 month old to nap today. She’s had 30 mins in total which was this morning. She looks absolutely wired, smiling giggling away. Her nights can sometimes be rubbish but last night slept from 7-6 with one night feed. I have tried the pram, sling, car seat, she is just not tired. What is happening! Poor thing, she must be hysterically tired, I have no idea what to do.

They go through a 4 month sleep regression and a growth spurt all at the same time. Just remember, this too shall pass.

I know it's hot, but strip you and her and try the sling again with skin to skin. Half close the blinds/curtains to dim the room and walk around slowly. Play white noise on your phone as you walk. Don't give up after a few minutes if it doesn't work immediately.

(Try naps in bed another day; right now it's all about getting her some shut eye!)

If I miss the window for my four month old going to sleep when she’s tired I’m onto a losing battle once she’s over tired! Have you tried in a dark room with some white noise?

my first slept through from 10 weeks and never woke up on the night. My DD is definitely not like that and I’ve noticed she’s not slept well in the last week so could be the four month sleep regression or a growth spurt - could be that.

Do you have a bouncy chair to bounce her in or a rockit for the pram? Usually either of those with a dummy in works for me if I can’t get her to sleep any other way.
