Ergobaby Carrier help

Hi all, I have a nearly 4 month old whose head control is slightly better now and she can keep it held up for a short period of time when she’s held up. I have tried putting her facing inwards in the carrier but her head doesn’t seem very well supported. It’s just bouncing back and forth from my chest to the carrier. I have no idea how to stop this happening. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This definitely doesn't sound right, I would guess your aren't fitting the carrier properly. Have you got it on the right settings for her age/height/weight? This is in the instruction booklet. Once you've made sure that's correct have a look at the online instruction videos for how to put the carrier on and adjust it. I used this carrier from day 1 and never had that problem. Hope you get it sorted.

It sounds as if the strap that goes between your shoulders isn't tight enough. This needs to he quite tight so baby's face is pretty much smushed against you.

It’s hard to advise without a photo to see how the fit is but I find that I get a better fit in the ergobaby when I cross the straps across the back

another common thing I’ve seen is people not having the waist strap high enough so that there isn’t much of a seat for baby to sit in. If you wear it round your waist, then scoop baby round the bum so their legs are in the M shape and they are sitting in the fabric and they will curve more into your chest.

like PP have said, it does sound like you might not have it on tight enough. Do you have a sling library near you? They are helpful for getting a fit check

Definitely sounds like something isn't quite right. I also do better with the crisscross straps, and check that the bit behind baby's head is folded up and on the higher buttons. (You can see the bit I'm talking about in the pics above – it's the paler strip above the logo, and it's folded down in the photos.)

Lovely thanks everyone, I have watched the videos and will try criss cross, looks like I was doing it properly. Thank you x
