Almost 8m old naps

My baby is 8 months in ten days and been on 3 naps with a 7ish bedtime. Rough days were

6/6.30am wake

nap around 2 hours 15m after waking. Used to nap only 45m but now does 1 hour 15-30.
next nap around 2.5 hours after waking again for another 1 hour 15-30 then a Power Nap between 4 and 4.15 for 30 mins before bed.
however I’m noticing wake windows extending, last nap is hard and he’s not always sleepy enough for bed if he gets the last nap.
trying 2 naps today for the first time. So far day has been

6am wake
9am nap till 10.15am

hoping for another nap Around 1.30 for another hour minimum but hopefully longer so say till 3 then I’ll probably need to bring bed time forward till 6.30.

does this sound about right? I hate the dreaded overtired 😂

That sounds reasonable, but just go with your baby. If he's shattered at 6, bed then, if he's in fine form at 6.30, perhaps bed at 7.

Also don't stress if some days are still three nap days – I found the transitions gradual with both my two. Some days they are more tired, the first nap is early or short, and you need that extra nap.

So second nap was 1.30 till just before 3pm. He actually managed the before bed wake window better than expected and I started putting him to sleep around 18.15. He gave around 5 mins of protest at that but is currently asleep so hopefully he stays that way 🙈 Altho I’ve got a neighbour out the back banging away with a hammer!

yeah I’m fully expecting their to be a mixture of 2/3 nap days! I enjoyed the 3 nap days, they were reliable - why do things need to change when you find a groove 😂

I’m just jealous that you’re getting your baby to have those lovely long naps and he’s not walking in the morning til past 6 😩

Sounds like what you’re doing is great!

@TheBerry if it helps, it’s a contact nap 🙈 he will not go more than 30 mins in the cot or pram!
